Little Rock - Jane W. Duke, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Arkansas, announced Terry Wayne Imbeau, age 47, of Morrilton was sentenced by United States District Judge James M. Moody on Monday, December 1, 2008, to 78 months federal imprisonment for traveling in interstate commerce for illicit sexual conduct.

In August 2006, Terry Imbeau, drove a 15-year-old girl from Arkansas to Louisiana. The girl’s parents reported her missing and an endangered runaway alert was issued. While in Louisiana, Imbeau engaged in sex with the minor. As Imbeau and the minor traveled back to Arkansas, they made a stop and the minor contacted a friend asking to be picked-up at a gas station in Clarksville. Knowing the minor was being sought, the friend contacted local authorities regarding the minor’s whereabouts. The girl was located by the Clarksville Police Department and was returned to the custody of her parents. Imbeau was arrested the next morning after questioning by the Conway County Sheriff’s Department. The case was referred to the FBI when the interstate connection was discovered.

Imbeau’s sentence included 10 years supervised release after his incarceration during which time he is to have no unsupervised contact with minors. Imbeau will also have to register as a sex offender in any state where he lives, works or goes to school and will be required to keep his registration current. His sentence also included recommendations from the Court for sexual therapy treatment and drug treatment.

The case was investigated by the Conway County Sheriff’s Department, the Clarksville Police Department and the Little Rock Field Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
